TOUCHSTONE

Didn’t we have the whole wide sky,
its scudding storms
and pigeon’s feather shades?
Stories too, woven from random strands –
on the way home we took them up again
to keep this time alive,
feeling ourselves already looking back
on the possibilities of unmarked space.
